The Ivy Cottage is a delightful place
In Doolin, County Clare
The Ivy Cottage provides a sacred space
For all who venture there.
Immediately, I feel at ease
It’s such a treasured find
The staff are pleasant, – eager to please –
A place to breathe – a place to unwind.
In the Ivy Cottage garden retreat
I sit in the shade of a tree
Pondering on what I’d like to eat
I choose fish - caught straight from the sea.
The warmth of the sun caresses my face
How contented can one person be?
I people watch as they pass this place
- ‘Though I doubt that they can see me -
The food is superb – served with a smile
It’s time to put down my pen
I think I’ll sit and muse for a while
But I’ll certainly come back here again.
